Logistics lvl 9000+
The monthly schedule of the transportation company was on 27th February, meaning they arrive to Malta on 1st March at night, and they collect the packages days before departure. Before I left we already had a lot of boxes filled, but my partner had another lot of left. On 25th of February the package collection happened.
But only the boxes. As I mentioned earlier our dog was also travelling on land, he got collected on 27th in the morning. So for two days they were living in an empty apartment with some sheets and a pillow.
28th morning 6:30
BUD => AMS => MLA flight with an about 2 hours waiting time in Amsterdam, arrival on Malta around 14:30. Actually was around 14:41, and getting out from the airport maybe at 15:00.
#covidtravels PCR test in 48 hours before flight to get into the airport, and for the Netherlands a quick antigen test right before the departure, luckily it is available at Ferihegy. For Malta you need to fill two forms, it is available online, but they gave one to us at the gate and collected on bording, the other one on the plane and collected it together with the PCR upon arrival.
So basically the same for her now as for me on 2nd of February. The only difference is, I was waiting for her at the airport ๐.
Next day 1st of March.
The arrival of the van. We had to go to the ferry, what was scheduled to arrive at 22:40. We had to go because we had to take the dog immediately, the boxes were packed to another vehicle and the driver headed back with the same ferry in few hours. We got to the harbour by bus (finally I tried my Tallinja card). This late bus was a one way option and also because of the dog.
Sadly taking photos is prohibited in the harbour, it would be nice to have a picture here of the gigantic ship arriving and the tiny looking 40 ton trucks getting off from it.
Some vehicles got pulled over for further inspection, and our driver was not surprised as his van got inspected as always. He usually carries animals and the authorities love to check some exotic reptile. With this and a slight delay at arrival, it was close to midnight when we were able to head home. I requested a ride trough Bolt, and called immediately the driver to ask if it is OK to travel with a dog, we had an extra blanket and sticky roller to cleanup after the ride, he accepted already when I mentioned the blanket.
2nd March
One month after my arrival, our belongings got delivered to our new apartment. 56 items at all, fourtysomething boxes and the rest. When packing off the truck we counted 55 and recounted it a lot of times, checked everyting finally turned out good.
Looks familiar ๐, same process backwards as in the beginning, in four days we managed to pack out most of the boxes, and it feels more like home as we are all here together.
